This scheme comprises of 15 social housing apartments on a compact site which has been fully utilised. The proposal comprises an ‘L’ shaped block of apartments which fronts onto Graham Street, on the outskirts of Lisburn City, and a smaller separate block further back within the site. Conceived as a series of repeating dual pitched blocks, the scheme serves to complete a gap in the street line, while respecting form, scale and materiality of the surrounding area. A buff brick was chosen as a robust material which would also reference the tone of the surrounding context: a mix of renders and pebble dashed finishes. The scheme was designed with generous windows and the intention was to provide high quality, bright welcoming apartments.
